Permanent Revolution

Where memory and place collide to challenge notions of identity

Permanent Revolution V2R (Virtual to Reality) is a Union Dance collaboration with digital media artists, Thomas Gray and Derek Richards. Alongside three choreographers, they created a ‘world in which memory and place collide to challenge our notions of identity’.

The choreography drew on contemporary, African, street dance and even salsa to explore how migration and transition can impact on our lives. As in the title of the production suggests, everything seems to go round in circles.  It brings to mind not only the current issue around asylum seekers, but also past generations who came to the UK and left family behind.
